About LAWO

The Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic is a project of Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc. (LAWO). LAWO attorneys and volunteer attorneys from private law firms give free legal help to people who have tax problems and can’t afford a private lawyer.

The LAWO Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic (LITC) represents low-income taxpayers involved in controversies with the IRS. LAWO provides legal representation, education, and outreach about the LITC program. LAWO receives a grant from the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service to fund the LITC program.

LAWO is a non-profit law firm that provides free civil legal assistance to eligible low-income people in 32 counties of northwest and western Ohio. LAWO can also help with legal problems in these areas:

  • Housing
